Here's the list of launch events for Madeleine Goes to the Moon. Please try and attend one if you can!
Saturday 27th September: Launch and book signing in Waterstones, Preston Sunday 28th September: Reading and book signing in Waterstones, Blackpool Saturday 4th October: Book signing in Kiddiroo, Tarleton We will be scheduling in more book signings at later dates. Two things happened today. First of all I got to see the actual book for the first time. I was genuinely surprised by how good it looks!
Second, the book is now available to preorder on Amazon.co.uk: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Madeleine-Goes-Moon-Peter-Lynas/dp/1907960147/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1411062688&sr=8-1&keywords=madeleine+goes+to+the+moon It all feels a bit real now.... For those of you with children attending All Saints Primary School in Hesketh Bank, Peter Lynas and Charlie Roberts will be visiting the school on Friday 3rd October to talk about Madeleine Goes to the Moon. They will be making an appearance in assembly in the morning and copies of the book will be available to any parents interested in purchasing a copy (we will be happy to sign them of course).
Peter and Charlie will be staying in school after assembly. They will be performing a reading of the story to the infant classes and and answering any questions. They will then be spending some time with the older pupils after morning break talking to them about the creative process involved in making the book and answering some potentially more challenging questions! http://www.allsaints23.lancsngfl.ac.uk/ Some people have been kind enough to ask when they will be able to purchase a copy of the book and where they can get it from.
Well here's the answer! Madeleine Goes to the Moon will be available to buy from 26th September 2014. It will be available to purchase direct from English Rose Books, but you can now either pre-order a copy or add it to your wish list on amazon.com or amazon.co.uk. Could we please ask if you do purchase a copy from Amazon, it would be hugely appreciated by both myself and Charlie if you could leave us a review afterwards. Even if you hated it!! We're working hard in the background at the moment preparing for the book launch. It's a mixture of good ideas and hard graft. We're also 'patiently' waiting for the proof copy and hoping that it's going to look right so fingers crossed on that one.
One things for sure, releasing a picture book is definitely hard work, but hopefully it will all be worth it in the end.... For those of you that are 'local', in addition to the book signings in Kiddiroo I will also be directly selling copies of the book at the 'Peeps' fair in Hesketh Bank on 11th October. Please come along and take a look. I will be happy to sign copies, chat about the book and answer any questions you might have.
I will also be arranging a visit to All Saints Primary School in Hesketh Bank where myself and Charlie will be showing our book but also speaking to the children about the creative process. I'll announce the date soon, but it should be a fun day! In addition to the book launch in Preston Waterstones on 27th July and a book reading in Blackpool Waterstones the next day, I am pleased to announce that we will also be holding book signing events in the excellent Kiddiroo stores.
We will be in Kiddiroo Tarleton on Saturday 4th October and Kiddiroo Wrightington on Saturday 8th November. If you are interested in purchasing a copy of the book then please come along and get it signed too, but bring some extra pennies if you have your kids with you as there's plenty more in store! |
